I have recently started volunteering with the wonderful charity, Small Acts of Kindness. Having worked with older people for many years, I have a real passion to help as much as I can. I have seen first hand, how their Warm in Winter gift bags make such a positive impact on those who are struggling with loneliness and isolation. In addition to volunteering my time, I would like to help raise much needed funds, to help fill their gift bags, so that Small Acts of Kindness can continue their work, reaching older people who feel lonely and in particular, those who struggling to keep warm in their homes.

Please perform your own small act of kindness, by sponsoring me to walk 10 miles. For those of you who know me, I love to stay active, so this is the perfect challenge for me!

Thank you so much for your kindness and support.

Background:
Small Acts of Kindness reduces loneliness and isolation for vulnerable, older people with a particular interest in those who are cold in their homes. Sourcing, packing and distributing practical gifts and information, their aim is for every older person to feel warmer in their home, cared for and less lonely. Their Warm in Winter gift bags, are filled with items that help heat the person, when they can’t afford to heat their home, including a fleece blanket, thermal gloves, hat and socks, hot drinks, soup and porridge as well as a comprehensive Purple Pages information pack. They work with over 150 community partners and 450 volunteers, to reach thousands of people every year.
