Our projects Our aim is to reduce loneliness and isolation for older and vulnerable people by connecting communities with kindness. We do this by sourcing, packing and distributing helpful gifts and information that reduce the negative impact that feeling lonely and isolated can have. Working with our partners from the charity, statutory and private sectors, we reach over 15,000 people every year, making a meaningful difference, one small act at a time. Warm in Winter gift bags Our largest project ensures that every older person we reach, feels warmer in their home, less lonely and connected to their community. Many older people struggle to keep warm in their homes, feeling lonely and socially isolated. Currently, 12,000 of our Warm in Winter gift bags are sourced, packed and distributed across Hertfordshire and Bedfordshire, every year. Purple Pages information packs Our Purple Pages information packs contain a wealth of carefully sourced and researched literature, signposting to services, support and activities for older people. Offering opportunities for social engagement and connection, they help to break the cycle of loneliness and isolation. Provided by national, county and local organisations and always with a telephone contact, our Purple Pages information packs are included in every gift bag that we distribute. Bags of Kindness A project in partnership with, and funded by Hertfordshire County Council and HertsHelp, 3,000 Bags of Kindness are given out to vulnerable people across the county. How you can help Our work has a positive and meaningful impact on the lives of some of Hertfordshire’s and Bedfordshire's most vulnerable, older people. We couldn’t do it without the kindness, support and generosity of our volunteers, partners and funders. £35 covers the cost of a Warm in Winter gift bag that will help to keep an older person warm this winter. “I am overwhelmed at the super gift from you wonderful people. I am a widow and I have always managed but the last few years I have sat freezing or gone to bed early because I can't afford to heat my home. You are angels” You can make a difference by donating today, helping to make someone feel cared for, less lonely and warmer in their home.
