Celebrating our milestone year and the difference we are making.

As 2025 draws to a close, we reflect on a really exciting and memorable year, celebrating 10 year of Small Acts of Kindness.

From those first 50 Warm in Winter gift bags delivered locally in Watford, to 12,000 distributed across Hertfordshire and Bedfordshire, we are so grateful to the endless acts of kindness shown over the last 10 years, helping to deliver our work and now reaching over 120,000 older and vulnerable people.

Beginning celebrations in March this year, with a special celebratory logo, we have been looking back at how far we have come, recognising those who have helped to make our work possible, highlighting the impact of our gifts and celebrating the kindness that is the driving force behind it all.

We asked for people to get in touch to share their part of our story. They may have volunteered with us, received a gift bag, supported us with a donation, know somebody who has received a bag, nominated someone, or distributed our gift bags. It has been truly heartwarming to have received so many wonderful celebratory ‘Messages of Kindness’ that we are delighted to be able to share with you here.

We loved looking back at photos, allowing us to reminisce and appreciate how much we have grown, the scale of operations and all we have achieved with so many people who have continued along our journey with us.

We have been thrilled to have been joined by so many of our volunteers, supporters and partners at two very special celebration events. In June, we hosted our partners and funders, and just recently we invited our amazing volunteer family to a Celebration Morning. Being able to thank everyone who has supported us, was so incredibly important to us and we are delighted to have spoken to, and seen so many of you.

This year, we have already sourced, packed and distributed over 15,000 gift bags through various projects. We have now reached more than 120,000 older and vulnerable people across Hertfordshire and Bedfordshire, with plans to pack more Warm in Winter gift bags in the new year, as demand for support continues to rise. The cost of living and energy prices mean so many more older people will be really struggling over the next few months, cold and alone.

A final thank you to everyone who has supported us. Whether volunteering your time or expertise, distributing our gift bags, nominating someone who needs our help or kindly donating. Together, we have connected communities and made a lasting difference to the lives of thousands of people, one small act of kindness at a time. Thank you for sharing in our journey.

Here’s to the next 10 years, but we need your help! If you’d like to help keep an older person warm in their home, feeling cared for and less lonely, please consider donating towards our Warm in Winter gift bags. To find out more visit our Warm this Winter page.
